I have been reading since I was “knee-high to a grasshopper,” as my mom would say. My earliest memories of books center on the built-in bookshelves that flanked our fireplace in the living room. Having six older brothers and sisters as well as two English teachers for parents leads to an extensive book collection. All manner of treasures could be found there C.S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, books on Vikings, and vast encyclopedias of information for me to devour. I had my own shelf with Little Golden Books, Bernstein Bears, Trixie Belden, and Boxcar Children.
Three decades have passed since I first became acquainted with the fantastic worlds found in books. While my tastes have changed, the pleasure of reading a good book has not. Now I primarily read High Fantasy, Urban/Paranormal Fantasy, Historical and Paranormal Romance. I currently have over 500 novels in my collection and am always looking to add more.
I rate on a simple five-star system without half-stars and based on my enjoyment of the book weighted by the book synopsis.
